Make a Splash, READ!

Come and dive in to an exciting Summer of Reading!

The Armstrong Public Library has stories, games, crafts and prizes waiting for children this summer at their summer reading program.

The fun starts with special programs every Friday in June from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.  Children PK through Grades 5 are welcome.  Anita Fischer will have interesting information and surprises.

Prizes will be awarded for hours spent reading.  A book of the child's choice plus a Blizzard from Dairy Queen will be awarded for reading for the following hours: 

  • Children Pre-K-  10 hours
  • Grades 2 - 4- 20 hours
  • Grades 5 and up- 30 hours

 Children may pick up their Reading Logs at the library.

 This summer's schedule is:

  • June 4 - Mighty Marshes
  • June 11 - Beach Day - Dress for the beach!
  • June 18 - Fishing Day - Dress like a fisherman!
  • June 25 - Pirate Day - Dress up like a pirate!


Youngsters Grades 6 and up are invited to participate in the program "Make Waves at Your Library."  For reading 30 hours over the summer this age group will receive a coupon for a medium Blizzard at the Dairy Queen.  Reading logs are available at the library.
