About the Library Director

Meet Ginger Fortescue, our library director.

Welcome to the Armstrong Public Library.  My name is Ginger Fortescue.  I was born and raised in Armstrong.  After graduation I was married and moved to Everett, WA.  My life has been similar to that of a gypsy in that I have moved around so many times.  I have lived in Everett, WA, Colorado Springs, CO, England, Holland, Alexandria, VA, Crofton, MD, Estherville, IA, Dallas, TX, Grafton, MA, Garland TX and finally back home to Armstrong.  I have one daughter, Stacey.  She has given me two wonderful grandboys, Bradley and Zachariah.  Sadly they still live in Texas so we don't get to see each other as often as I would like.  My mom lived with me in Texas during the winter months after my husband passed away in 2000 and moved into my home here in Armstrong when I made the monumental decision to move back here in 2003.  She is now at the Valley View Care Facility only a few blocks from my home.  It is wonderful to have her so close as I can drop by almost anytime to see her.  I stay busy with fostering kittens for the Martin County Humane Society out of Fairmont, MN, and my job here at the library.  I am hoping to see you soon here in the library.  I am open to suggestions to improve our services to you and of course if you have a special author, book or magazine you would like to see in here, please feel free to talk with me about these things.
