W.O.W. Book Club

The W.O.W. Book Club (Women of Words) started September, 2008.  They meet the second Monday of each month at the Armstrong  Public Library at 7:00 p.m.  There are no dues but members are encouraged to donate to a 'can' fund in order to get extra copies of the books read for each month as there is a $2.00 charge for ordering books through inter-library loan.

All members read the same book each month.  The discussion for the month is lead by the person who recommends the book.  This Christmas each member read a different book and gave a mini report on her book.

Several local authors have attended the book club meetings.

New members are always welcome.  Contact Joyce Leach.

Some of the books read by the W.O.W are:

  • We Are All Welcome Here by Elizabeth Berg
  • When Crickets Cry by Charles Martin
  • To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
  • Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult
  • 20 Wishes by Debbie Macomber
  • The Escape:  The Secret Life by Teresa L. Jones, author visited
  • White Picket Fences by Susan Meissner
  • Very Valentine by Andriana Trigiana
